BROOKLYN NETS SCOUTING REPORT
SCREEN/ROLL COVERAGE
REPORT
Active on the ball defenders with Schroder/Smith/Walker. They are a high switch team and funnel a lot to Claxton/Sharpe. Finney Smith is a Game Time Decision, but he’s one of their better defenders. Schroder will die on screens so be aggressive on your drives with him. You can get to the rim for sure against him just change your speed and drive the fuck out of him. Thomas is one of the worst on ball defenders I’ve seen in a while. If he guards you drive the fuck out of him. On your spot ups, both Schroder and Thomas goes for fakes so uses your fakes to open up your drive. Use your floater in the paint as both of their Centers are Shot Blockers. I would switch up your Screen/Rolls and Hand Offs with Vic and have him pop once in a while. If they stay connected with him turn the corner and get to the rim. Claxton leaves his feet a lot if you get int he paint with him use your step throughs or fake get him up and make a pass around him to find open shooters.
SCORING ON THEM IN SCREEN ROLL
REPORT
Pick them apart with your drive and kicks. Get the ball in the paint on drives they will over rotate you should be able to get your spot up shooters open all night. When Thomas is guarding you, go full attack mode offensively you can get past him easily. Johnson is a weak link on switches to get to the rim. You will have spot up opportunities as they over help at times. If the ball moves you will get shots. What also will fuck them up is to set ball screens yourself as well and roll as you haven’t done that in a couple of games. Your passing will destroy them to get open looks. They are a middle of the road defensive team mostly because of their shot blocking and having Bridges/Finney Smith. I think this will be a floater game for you with Claxton/Sharpe, you will get opportunities on the spot up as well as transition spots. Continue to be aggressive looking for your shots .
OPENINGS FOR 3 POINT SHOTS
REPORT
They give up plenty of 3PT shots. Drive and kicks and get the ball moving. You’ll get your corner looks on drive kick and ball movement shots. You’ll get plenty of open looks but the ball can’t stick. Try cutting to the corner on post entries to Vic walk your man to the top top a step and then reject to the corner try a different look. Let’s keep being aggressive looking for 3-4 3PT shots a game. If they go under on your screen rolls lets start letting it fly more as well as transition looks if they are back on you.

OFFENSE
REPORT
Pick and Roll Scorer. Most of his offense will be pull ups on screen rolls. Shooting 52% from 3PT the last 10 Games. Wants to drive right, doesn’t do a lot with his left. Will spend a lot of time off the ball on spot ups. Will over dribble a lot on screen roll to iso and look to drive the ball. Below average finisher, has issues finishing over length. Will change speeds and attack the rim if the paint is cleared out. Shoots mid 40’s from 3PT on the Right Side and only Mid 30’s from 3PT. Push up on him and send him left. Most of his drives will be right and looking to pull up. Show hands on drives and contest everything.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Push up non him and send him left. Loose with the ball at times with his passes. Over Dribbles on Isolations & Screen/Rolls and will drive deep in the paint and get caught in the air at times. Send him left and keep your hand active for deflections. Not as effective going left as he is going right. Try to get your hands on his dribble.

Aggressively looking to jack up anything in site. Hates passing, would only pass to himself if he had control over it. Averaging 25 PTS a Game over the last 10 shooting 58% from 3PT. Scores in a variety of ways.. Screen Rolls/Isolations/Spot Ups/Hand Offs.. He isn’t a strong ball handler. You need to pick him up full court. He splits bringing it up with Schroder, pick him up 94 feet and attack his dribble. He drives both right/left doesn’t favor one direction. Stay down on all of his fakes. Gets to the line 4.6 times a game uses a lot of fakes coming off hand offs and his spot ups. Will shoot a lot of floaters, show hands on all of his drives and contest everything. He loves to take contested tough shots. When he puts the ball on the floor on hand offs he will look to use the stepback on both right and left drives. Average/Below Average Finisher.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Not a strong ball handler. Will turn the ball over if you push up on him 94 feet and attack his dribble. Defenders give him too much respect in the half court and don’t give him much pressure. He changes speeds and looks to initiate contact on drives. Pick him up as earl as possible and show hands and make them active as fuck when you are guarding him and he’s dribbling the ball. Stay attached to him and force him to be a playmaker.

Loves to spot up or straight line drive in space. One of the better cutters in the league. You probably won’t be guarding him that much, but when he is off ball especially in the corner off ball looking to cut to the rim. When he passes the ball be on the lookout of a cut right away. Quick trigger on catch and shoot, moves a lot on the perimeter to get in the vision of their ball handlers. Show hands on all of his drives and force him into a contested shot. Stay connected on his hand offs, always looking to move. One of the more active movers off the ball from the wing position. Has been in a slump in the last 10 games only shooting 38% from the field. Good finisher shooting close to 60% at the rim.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Stay attached on his drives and keep you hands active. Decent ball handler, but when he gets the ball in screen/rolls push up on him and give him some swipes. Don’t give him a lot of space on his dribbles. Keep your hands up and active. When you are off the ball and he drives in your direction give him a swipe he gets the ball stripped off the ball quite a bit.

A lot of spot ups and hand offs. Improved shooter this year shooting 42% from the 3PT Line. Look for him for a quick catch/shoot or straight line drive. Uses a lot of fakes so stay down on all of them. Average finisher, but gets to the rim pretty easily. Looks to attack the rim on hand offs so stay connected and active hands on all of his drives. Stay connected to his hip on drives and stay on your feet. On his isolations he will pull up from the mid range a lot. No lunges against him just play solid and stay on your feet.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Low turnover guy. He does travel a lot, so pressure him and bring him into your bigs on the help, tends to get happy feet. Doesn’t go crazy with moves and things, but will be a little loose with the ball. Stay solid and connected to him on his drives. No bailouts with reaches, just stay solid and on the ground.

They use him mostly off the ball for spot ups , but will put him in some pick and rolls as well. Shooting 28% from the 3PT, but can make a couple of you leave him wide open. Looking to straight line drive and get the ball pin transition. Physical looking for contact and a decent finisher. Not a strong ball handler so push up ion him. I would pressure him full court, he is quick but not very strong with the ball to just blow past defenders. Show hands on drives he is looking to bump and make contact.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Pick him up full court and push him left. He doesn’t have confidence going left and is loose with the ball. Keep your hands active and swiping at his ball.
