GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS SCOUTING REPORT
SCREEN/ROLL COVERAGE
REPORT
Middle of the pack on most of their screen & roll defensive team. They pressure the fuck out of the ball and are a heavy switch team. Not a lot of shot blocking as Draymond/Kuminga are probably their best shot blockers are they are active on switches and try to chase a lot down. Thompson & Paul are probably their weakest links with on the ball coverage. Wiggins/Payton/Podziemski give a lot of effort on the ball and get attached to your hip and have active hands. Move the ball against them and keep your dribble. They are smart and well disciplined and are active as fuck with their hands so be careful with that. They give up a lot of rejects and drives and will show you film in the next section. Be physical and initiate contact on your drives as they will hack the fuck out of you. Paul will swipe and hand check all night. Be especially physical with Wiggins/Podziemski they aren’t a fan of it. Podziemski will make mistakes with fakes, swipes, and lunges. The rim will be open as well as off the ball spot ups. I’ll show you film on that in the next section.
SCORING ON THEM IN SCREEN ROLL
REPORT
Attack the rim. They have a few more athletic weapons than Sac does on the perimeter to get blocks/steals but they are still weak at the rim. As you saw in the film they give up a lot of rejects to the rim and floaters. Don’t give your dribble up and keep attacking. Not sure if Vic is playing but force them to make the decision of staying with him and sending 2 to you. Lob passes will kill them, and if it is Cold Play then draw 2 and kill them in the pocket like you did with Sacramento. Thompson can’t keep much in front of him on the ball, and probably is worse on the switch. Obviously Green/Paul can get deflections and steals. If they stick on Vic(If he plays) then be aggressive at the rim and your floaters. They struggle with rotations when the ball moves like most teams. I want you to be more aggressive off the ball with your cuts especially once you pass the ball and space off the ball. So many defenders ball watch that it could get you 4-6 points.
OPENINGS FOR 3 POINT SHOTS
REPORT
Still 30th in Opponent 3PT FG%. They five up a ton of drive and kick 3PT shots. If the ball moves you should have a ton of corner 3PT opportunities. They give up a lot of paint drives and are very average at rotating out. Be aggressive getting the ball in the paint and you will find your shooters. For you, off the ball corner 3PT shots on swing swings and ball movement will be there for you. Transition wise as well get to your spots and if there is a transition 3PT shot(s) available I think you should go for it. But they give up a ton of looks, take advantage of it.

REPORT
You’ll see him in a lot of screen rolls. You have to give him pressure and get him out of his comfort zone. Push him right as much as possible on the dribble. He is physical and looking to imitate contact. Likes to backdown guards 3-4 times a game. Show hands on every drive and keep him right as much as possible. Decent finisher at the rim shooting 62%. Stay on your feet and contest every shot. Loves to spin on drives, make sure you are showing hands on every drive. If he is too fast to guard in the backcourt then pick him up consistently at half court and show him constant pressure. When you give him too much space he drives and gets to the rim at will. On wing closeouts off the ball keep him to the baseline and not middle. Struggling from 3PT last 10 shooting 29%.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Pressure the fuck out of him for 94 feet. He is cranky and complains to the refs almost as much as Luka does. He is cranky and hates getting pressured. Now once you do this a few times he will look to get makeup calls , but until that happens pressure the fuck out of him everywhere. Low turnover guy and makes great decisions, but make him uncomfortable. I don’t know if they will start him in place of Curry, or they will keep his role of coming off the bench, but either way just get into him and take all space away. He will get pissed and will throw a couple away. Keep your hands active and look to get deflections/steals on his drives.

Spot Ups & Screen/Rolls you will mostly see from him. Dribbles the fuck out of the ball. Good straight line driver, very streaky shooter. For the season, shooting a respectable 37% for the season but is in a major slump from 3PT shooting 30% and 39% overall in the last 10. Off the ball he likes to reject the split screen and to get to the rim. Keep him going right and stay on your feet on all fakes. He’s a solid finisher. Take his space away and keep him going right, you will see in the next film most of his turnovers come going right. Only shooting 60% at the Free Throw Line must be a mental midget. His game seems solid, the Free Throw Shooting is a strange one. Keep him going in one direction, don’t let him dribble everywhere he wants that is how he gets going. Contest his shots and stay connected. Expect him to be an active cutter and mover off the ball. Get him off his left hand!! (The Exclamation Points are a Dick Move)
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Push him going right and take his space away. Push up on him and have active hands. He isn’t a huge turnover guy but you have to make him uncomfortable. Push him right and don’t let him get back to his left hand. Stay on the ground, loves using the fake to open up his straight line drive. If you keep him right, pressure the fuck out of him, and active hands on his drives you will get him throwing the ball away.

Spot Up 3PT Shooter and Straight Line Driver. Very streaky shooter/player. Will probably see more of a role with Curry out. Plays Posts up on that left block and will hit you with that bump hook with the right. You probably won’t see much of him. Stay on your feet and don’t go for his pump fake bullshit. Contest everything and keep him dribbling. The more he puts the ball on the floor the more he will jack up a bullshit shot. Stay on his dribble and keep your hands active. Stay on his hip and don’t bail him out with holding fouls or leaving your feet on his fakes. 35% 3PT Shooter, although shooting the shit out of hit in the last 10 at 47% from 3PT. Make everything he shoots contested and tough. Most of his drives are right, keep him going left.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Mental Midget. Keep him going left. Not a strong ball handler. Don’t let him get to his right hand and show hands. If you are off the ball and he drives in your direction take a swipe at him.

Spot Ups, Pin Downs , & Hand Offs. Stay Connected al all times. Watch out for his Split Action Cuts on Post Entries. I don’t care about him coming off the bench or mental health that he’s depressed that he isn’t that he used to be he is an absolute monster and can explode for 10 3PT Makes. Stay on him from the second he passes half courts. He’s always moving looking to come off some sort of pin down or hand off. On his dribble kicks he will look to space or come off another screen, or look for another hand off. Shooting 37% from 3PT and has zero conscience. Stay down on his fakes and contest everything. Force him to put the ball on the floor and make plays that don’t involve spot ups and 1 dribble pull ups. Stay connected on all pins and don’t leave your feet as he will put the ball on the floor in a straight line drive. I don’t know how much you will guard him, but same energy you gave Huerter double it with him.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Not a high turnover guy. When he comes off pin downs/hand offs keep your hands up he loves making that quick bounce pass to the screener or drive and then make the play to the screen setter. He will make some dumb ass passes at times, but the main way to force him to turn the ball over is to put major pressure on him when he comes off those pins/hand offs.

Energy guy. Spot Up Player, Screen Setter, and crashes the offensive glass. Very good cutter and just plays hard as fuck. For the most part a non offensive player if you keep him off the glass and stay connected to him when setting a pin down or ball screen. Off Ball , you have to watch out for him cutting and crashing the glass.

Spot up and straight line driver. Energy guy as he is always moving and crashing the glass. Stay on your feet on his jumper as he loves using fakes and drives to the rim. Athletic and long can finish above the rim with no problem. Contest all shots and just stay solid. Solid finisher, doesn’t get too crazy with his offense. Don’t give him open driving lanes to the rim. Show hands on all drives.
