ORLANDO MAGIC SCOUTING REPORT
SCREEN/ROLL COVERAGE
REPORT
Not a lot of great on the ball defenders. Fultz does a decent job with his length and size. He chases and tries to fight through screens as well as contests jumpers. Suggs dies quicker on screens than a white girl in a horror movie. Anthony is below average on the ball defender. As far as the bigs in their screen/roll coverage Carter does an excellent job keeping ball handlers in front and is active on contesting shots, but not a shot blocker. Jonathan Isaac is their best shot blocker that chases the ball handler down and can take shots out of the air. Have an eye on him when you are in screen roll when attacking the rim. Bitadze has been out of the rotation the past 5 games is their best shot blocker on paper but Isaac can switch and guard ball handlers as well as challenge at the rim. They struggle with good screening and aggressive passers/drivers in screen roll. If Banchero matches up with you you should drive past him quicker than a car jacking in Memphis. He plays zero defense on ball and wants nothing to do with it. They to stick with the two people in coverage and the other 3 stay attached to their man, opening up rims drives if aggressive. Use your screeners, stay on attack, and keep your dribble live. Be physical on all on ball defenders intimate contact and bump the fuck out of them. Use your fakes in the paint against Isaac he will leave his feet on almost every fake.
SCORING ON THEM IN SCREEN ROLL
REPORT
Attacking the paint has to be the focus. They really don’t have much for rim protectors or on the ball stoppers. Use your screeners and get to the paint. Carter is a good positional and team defender but not a shot blocker. Lay Ups, Floaters, and mid range pull ups are open all night against them. When Isaac gets in the game be on the look out of him as he is very active in coverage. At times he will let you shoot all the mid range pull ups that you want . They give up a ton of rim points and mid range pull ups in screen roll. Line them up change speeds and be on the attack all night. They ball watch off of the ball so there should be a bunch of drive kick opportunities for 3PT shots or cutting from the weak side. Stretch them out with an extra dribble on screen rolls/hand offs with Vic. Wagner’s brother the Center is active as hell but the elevator hasn’t reached the top floor in a long fucking time. Use your fakes against them in the paint to open up your shots and step throughs.
OPENINGS FOR 3 POINT SHOTS
REPORT
Keep the ball moving against them as well as dribble kicks. When you give the ball up on swings move away from where you passed to as there will be spot up options for you especially in the wing areas. They don’t rotate out of drive kicks very well and you can get a ton of looks against them. Screen/Roll passes to open shooters will be there all night, as well as hand off drive and kicks. Look for some transition looks as well either running your lane for catch shoot/catch dribble shoot or dribble up 3PT shots when you have room.

Non 3PT threat to the 1,000,000th power. I saw him live make a 3PT shot in the right corner the other day it was like watching an eclipse without special glasses. I still have double vision. He wants to pull up in the mid range. Mostly likes it off hand offs for 1-2 dribble pull ups. Go under on everything in my opinion force him to shoot. His Jumper has a stutter to it so you can get to his jumper as he hitches it. Show hands on his drives he wants to make contact, but with his free throw shooting he may as well shoot them from half court he’s shooting the same percentage. He wants to get to the rim and pull up in the mid range. High level finisher. Stay connected on his drives and show hands.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Doesn’t turn the ball over a ton. Has an issue with breaks at times, so if he is charging to your direction take the charge. He is very loose with the ball at times, but not a lot of defenders try to be a pain in the ass and pressure him. Not a strong ball handler, but doesn’t over dribble to exploit it. Sell the contact on his push off or when he hurries the shoulder.

Plays mostly off of spot ups for catch shoot, catch drive situations. Solid player likes to straight line drive to the rim or spin. He shoots 60% at the rim which is very good. Shooting 38% from 3PT line can shoot it off of the catch or off of the dribble. Consistent offensive player and very simplistic. Favorite 2 spots to operate from his left corner and right wing. Force him into tough shots, likes to drive right over left 20% more overall. Stay on your feet and contest everything.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Leaves his feet a lot on drives. Stay connected to him and show hands active in passing lanes to get deflections. Not an accurate passer and will throw it away at times. Stay with him stay on his hip and show him pressure..

Pop up jump shooter on screen roll and spot up drives. Not very quick, but can get to his spots. Physical on drives likes to initiate contact. Only shooting 32% from 3pt, but will take them if they are open. Over dribbles at times, wants to get his shots up. Very much a volume scorer and wants to get his shots up. Show hands on his drives and stay close to him, get ready to contest on his pop up shots. Likes to drive baseline and bump/pull up. Not a great finisher but solid at 55% at the rim. They will use him as a screener with Banchero, be aware of that. Solid floater.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Loose ball handler. Show him pressure and hands at all times. Leaves his feet in the paint to try to find open teammates. If you are off the ball and he drives in your direction take a swipe at him. Good chance he could lose it. Keep him dribbling the ball.

Aggressive driver. One of the better finishing PG’s in the league shooting 68% at the rim. Likes to spot up , preferably in that right corner shooting 8/18 for the season. Shooting 38%. Aggressive on mid range pull ups off the dribble. Initiates contact on drives so don’t bail him out with not showing hands on drives. Stay down on his fakes, bring him into the help on his drives. Would rather drive right than left so if you can, keep him to his left hand and don’t let him get back to his right.

They mostly spot him up and bring him off hand offs. He is struggling shooting the ball from deep this season only shooting 32% from 3PT. He can still make shots so you have to know where he is off the ball. Loves to cut wither from wings or corners. Keep an eye on that as he is shooting over 70% at the rim this season. Show hands and contest everything. He’s aggressive trying to drive the ball so be aware of that. Make him see a hand on all jumpers.
