3 SHOT STRETCH BIG DRILL
Im a big fan of multiple shot drills, especially when it has the player shoot game shots in a game simulated sequence. When it comes to a stretch big I think it is VERY important for them to be able to shoot the ball on the move. So much is done for them in transition or shots after setting screens. In a game situation in transition their first look will mom likely be a shot in transition from the trail spot. I want them to know if the shot isn’t there that they should look to set a screen on the ball handler and space out the best they can on a turn sprint on the pop. In games if the Side Pop is set, but no shot then the big sets the the screen again in the form of a step up.
TEACHING POINTS
On the trail 3PT shot to start the drill make sure they catch on a 1-2 and that they sprint into the catch. The open on the side & step up can be however they choose. Make sure they are setting a legal screen and sprint after the screen is set to create great space for the offense. On all shots they are catching and shooting as quickly as possible
