UTAH JAZZ SCOUTING REPORT
SCREEN/ROLL COVERAGE
REPORT
One of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. Strange lineup, as they have one of the best rim protecting bigs in the NBA in Walker Kessler coming off the bench. As far as on ball defender’s in the lineup, Keynote George is probably the only one that gives a great effort. Sexton can definitely be driven on and attacked. Collins is an athlete and can get a deflection or a block once in a while but isn’t consistent. George will give effort and so will Dunn coming off the bench. Sexton can be attacked and will die on screens. Horton can’t stay in front of your fucking mascot and you definitely need to attack him. They will try to force you into contested jumpers all night or funnel you into Walker Kessler. They are last in the league at opponent 3PT percentage. They don’t have a team that is wired for defense, especially in the starting lineup. Hunt great shots and attack the on ball defenders to get in the paint. Kessler very active and can move is feet. He is averaging 2.5 blocks a game and is a motherfucker to deal with so find him. Teams are collectively shooting 39.6% from 3PT vs Utah this season.
SCORING ON THEM IN SCREEN ROLL
REPORT
Teams that attack their on ball defenders to get in the paint get anything they want on drive and kicks as well as getting to the rim. They let up a lot of paint drives which leads to them being in scrambles and long closeouts all night. Be aggressive driving the ball. You will have rim/floater opportunities with Collins at 5 and you will also get some rim opportunities with Kessler in there even with his shot blocking ability. They are open to being rejected on ball screens. They are bad at collapsing in the paint on drives and giving up spot up 3PT shots. You will see it in the next session video. If you get Kessler in screen roll on a switch on the perimeter or in drop move him side to side and force him to move his feet. Constantly change directions and force him to move side to side. Their on the ball defenders are not disciplined and are poor defenders besides George and Dunn. Be aggressive and look to attack he paint and attack the rim. Force them to put multiple defenders on you on drives and then pick them apart.
OPENINGS FOR 3 POINT SHOTS
REPORT
Last in the League in OPP Made 3PT shots per game at 14.8 and last in 3PT FG% at 39.6%. Drive and kicks on screen/roll as well as just straight line drive kick to open shooters is a wide open option. They will give up a lot of 3PT shots on screen and roll shots from the ball handler. Not a very good defensive team and you need to take advantage of it. they will help on screen rolls and leave shooters to stop the ball, which ill open up another shot. Be aggressive on your drives and move the ball and it should be fine on the 3PT Department.

OFFENSE
REPORT
Aggressive offensive player. Expect a high number of screen rolls. from him looking to attack. Not a very efficient player , shooting 39% from the field. Pop up jump shooter on screen rolls as well as a spot up and hand off threat as well. You need to pressure him 94 feet as he isn’t a mentally strong player by a long margin. He will take fucked up shots and make mental mistakes when pressured by a solid defender. If you reach and lunge on him he will take advantage. If you give him constant pressure full out and be solid it will drive him fucking insane. Below average finisher at the rim shooting 49%. He plays on the ball a lot on offense, not much of a playmaker but if a pass is in front of him him will give it up. Stay on the ground and contest every shot that he takes. 94 feet of constant pressure. Just be the pain in the ass prick that you are every night and you should be able to get the best of him.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Constant pressure 94 feet. Show hands and stay attached. Stay on your feet , force him to make a play. He will take tough shots and try to make tough plays all night. If you stay connected and force him to leave his feet in the paint, he is fucked. Active hands in the pocket on screen rolls, you can get deflections. Drives in both directions so forcing him one way over the other doesn’t give you a tremendous advantage. Constant pressure and trying to backup while staying on your feet and staying consistent will fuck with his head. He will make mistakes and turn it over.

Explosive scorer, does a great job of getting to the rim. Shooting 60% once he gets there. Looking to initiate contact and get to the line. Averaging 4.5 FTA’s a game so he is aggressive in trying to get there. Efficient Scorer shooting 49% from the field , 40 from the 3PT and 86 from the line. Expect a lot of Screen Rolls and ISOs, plays a lot off the ball with George, more of a shooting guard/scorer in his role. Push him one direction and show hands. He is going to jack up shots and will score, make it hard on him and make him work for it. If he brings the ball up pressure the fuck out of him and turn him in the backcourt. Everything needs to be challenged and contested. He is crafty with fakes after drives and floaters. Stay solid , show hands, and stay on your feet.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
He is loose with the ball at times. He likes to over dribble and the more he over dribbles the more trouble he gets into. Stay attached to him, keep your hands active in the screen roll pocket, and stay solid. Keep fucking with his rhythm and his vision with active hands all over the place. Deep clock is where he makes mistakes so just be solid , show hands, and stay active and attached.

NOT SUPPOSED TO PLAY BAD BACK BUT JUST IN CASE:Professional scorer. Scores in a variety of ways. Mostly off the dribble in Screen Rolls/Isolations/ Straight Line Drives. They run him off pins, mostly on the right side of the floor. One of the best floaters in the NBA shooting 51% using it. Watch for them running him off a flare in transition off of his first pass. Average finisher, shooting 51% at the rim. Mostly wants to get to his pull up game. Stay on your feet on his fakes. He can score, but not very efficient as he is very much hot and cold. Only shooting 29% from 3PT , but will keep shooting them. No lunges, stay solid , and contest everything.
TURNOVERS
REPORT
Low IQ decision maker. Not an accurate passer, and every time he tries to make plays for others it doesn’t go well for him. Have active hands, not a strong ball handler. You can get steals from him just and force turnovers. Get him dribbling and force him to be a decision maker. He will turn

Mostly a spot up and screen/roll scorer. Mostly operates out of the left corner on spot ups. They use him as a screener on ball to slip out to get a shot or catch and drive. Solid finisher at 60% at the Rim. Force him into contested shots off of the dribble. Stay solid like you usually do. Don’t go for fakes as he is effective on straight line drives.LOVES TO DRIVE AND SPIN THAT IS HIS FAVORITE THING TO DO ON DRIVE. SIT ON THE SPIN AND STEAL THAT MOTHERFUCKER
TURNOVERS

Not a high turnover guy. Makes some bad decisions in screen and roll, but doesn’t struggle with one specific thing. Stay solid and keep your hands off your sides. SIT ON HIS SPIN.

Tough player looking to score. Screen Roll Spot Ups mostly. Sneaky athlete that changes speeds well and can get to the rim. Below average shooter at 33% from 3PT, but keeps shooting them. Not very quick , but crafty. Statistically they say he drives mostly left, but in theist few games the motherfucker drive nowhere, but right. Not a strong ball handler I would pressure the shit out of him and put maximum pressure on him. His role has changed in the last couple of weeks playing up and down minute wise. Stay connected to him and force him to over dribble. Average finisher at 50% at the rim. Show hands and don’t bail him out on drives by reaching.
